R&D

Research and Development into new inspection and monitoring systems are at the heart of our development.

We develop new inspection or monitoring system from the basic concept (TRL 0-1) to the prototype demonstration in an operational environment (TRL 6-7).

With over 25 years’ experience in development of numerous and varied inspection and monitoring systems in Oil & Gas (capacitive sensor integrated on an RFID tag, in-line ultrasonic phased-array inspection of thermoplastic sheath, laser profilometry embedded on a pipeline internal inspection tool, temperature and stress measurements on optical fiber up to the underwater inspection robot of flexible pipe and its NDT laboratory), IMdev will help you develop your inspection or monitoring system.

What we do

Sensors

IMdev develops custom-made sensors in a wide range of environments (land, sea, underwater, aerial), and for a wide variety of applications (remote, onboard, buried) when the implementation of standard sensors is not possible.

NDT

Non-destructive Testing (NDT) is a set of physical investigation methods that characterize the integrity of structures or materials without degrading or destroying them. The use of NDT occurs at different stages in the life cycle of a product. They are carried out either in the manufacturing phase or in the operation phase or as part of maintenance operations.

IMdev can support you in the implementation of standard NDT techniques (Ultrasonic Testing, Electromagnetic Testing, Magnetic Testing, Visual and Optical Testing, Radiographic Testing).

Integration

Inspection and monitoring require the integration of multiple disciplines (electronics, mechanics, servo control, control-command, software, human-machine interface…). Faced with these challenges, we must be able to define the best solution in terms of performance, costs, maintainability, and scalability.

Data Science

Data Science refers to the set of scientific, mathematical, statistical tools used on data sets to extract knowledge and insights.

– NDT poduction process control data to ensure your process and products are stable and within specification.

– NDT images (C-Scan cartography of ultrasonic testing, Eddy-Current, Magnetic flux Leakage, digital radiography…) with sophisticated methods to ensure quality of your product.

– NDT signals of monitoring systems (distributed optical fiber sensor, accelerometer, acoustic, 3D positioning…) to ensure integrity of your asset.

SHM

Structural health monitoring (SHM) is a multidisciplinary science that implements NDT, sensors, and data analysis. Its objective is to maintain and extend the life of asset.
